Enrolment and getting started
We cater for a wide range of ages and abilities—from complete beginners to advanced lane swimmers and lifeguards in training:Beginners (3+ years): For non-swimmers who are dependent on armbands. Focused on water confidence, fun exercises, and working towards the Puffin Award (aiming to swim 5 metres without armbands).Junior Beginners (6+): Perfect for older children who are new to swimming or need extra support to build water confidence.Improvers & Advanced Improvers: For children who no longer need armbands, focusing on stroke techniques (front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke), stamina, and breathing techniques (aiming for 10 to 25+ metres).Lane Swimming (Dolphins, Blue Fins & Sharks): For confident swimmers ready to master all four strokes, build distance/stamina (up to 800m), and incorporate fun activities like water polo.Rookie Lifeguards: A fantastic RLSS UK programme teaching water safety, rescue skills, first aid, and teamwork—which can even count towards the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award
Our lessons are led by Nicky, our fully qualified Lead Instructor who earned her ASA qualifications in 1994 and brings over 25 years of professional teaching experience. Nicky has extensive experience teaching parent-and-baby classes, club swimming, school groups, and one-to-one lessons, ensuring a warm, patient, and highly structured environment for every child.
